Anyone recommend any reasonable hotels in Manchester - Last time I went there I stayed at the Ramada and it was a complete ballache to find and park.
Something near the venue?

That's what I need to know too, for the Stranglers gig March 20th. Parking's no problem in my case, I wouldn't want to risk the lives of thousands of innocent people driving a car on your island...

For the Rattus gig a couple of years ago I stayed at the Britannia - centre of town and reasonably priced thru Expedia.
NCP Car park nearby, about 10 quid overnight as I recall.

The Midland hotel is just a ten minute walk away, I work there sometimes (but can't get you discount unfortunately), I know you can get rooms there at the moment for £45, but that might change by the 27th, 'cause they often put the prices right up near christmas
Shove it up yer bollocks then!

Jim,
I can recommend the Princess hotel on Portland Street - solid 3 star with character - I was pleasantly surprised at how adequate it was.
I've gone with this several times both at work parties and also after seeing gigs in the city. Good rooms, good breakfast, good staff!

I'm starting to book the Hugh tour on Monday.First i will get Glasgow sorted out then Manchester. Probally looking in the regions of £50 to £80 for hotels. Islington or Oxford?. Due to travel i would say islington but i have been there twice and it's not the most inspiring venues.
