Being released as a single on 19th March.

Will we see the boys as her backing band on Jonathan Ross or similar?

If this is the way to get renewed interest in the band with people sampling their records so be it..Hopefully the same may happen to the stranglers what happened to Gary numan when ARE FRIENDS ELECTRIC? was sampled by the sugababes, and re-invigorate their career commercially..Okay attention will be diverted to the original line up but if they can't create enough interest promoting their own records this is a way in through the back door so to speak..GOLDEN BROWN may even re-enter the top 40 now via download if this is a big hit..

:P :P

This is certainly the best cover/sample of the song I have heard. The KAYLEEF and OMAR one's were ok I suppose but it is the music which made GOLDEN BROWN successful more so than the lyrics..

Sounds bloody awful!! And it makes Golden Brown sound like some tinny kids musical toy or something.

She's not recognising the key or anything!

And I turned off Julie Ocean by The Undertones for this?!?
Nah, not for me.
Though I'm sure it'll get the only Stranglers song the radio
ever plays a couple of extra spins.

I actually prefer it to the original. I think it has a freshness that was sadly lacking in the old version. The original, that we are all so familiar with, has not stood the test of time well, and this drags a crusty old song kicking and screaming into the modern world with a modern twist, and I believe, simply goes to show what dreadfull lyrics the old song had.
This young lady should be extremely pleased with the results, and I would go a stage further to suggest that she displays a talent that stands head and shoulders above The Stranglers and their admirable, but ultimately 2nd rate song writing talents.
Or perhaps not. :?

Actually nah I do think this is better than the original - I like what she's done with it it really opens up Dave's "harpischord" up. Fantastic.
