After hearing some of Stings latest album, I can see why!

Bah! They're rumoured to reform every bleedin' year! Never gonna happen.
If Dave was to use a Hammond L100 for just one more gig I'd die content.

Did you see Lauren Laverne pissing herself on The Culture Show the other week when Sting was playing his fucking lute?!! She had to introduce him and all she could think of was "Gordon is a moron" on rotation in her head.

Gordon being Stings real name.

I saw an interview with Stuart Sumner of when they played at Stingos wedding.
After about 2 songs he said the old feelings of wanting to rip each others heads off started surfacing and that as long as they didn't play together they all got on like a house on fire.

Would be interesting if they did get back together, would they be in a cage each?

I have never liked STING as a solo artist or him going down the BONO road of telling tyhe government how to run the country etc,,but THE POLICE at their peak were shit hot! and this is great news if only A JAM and another certain band reformed with the original members :?: 2007 will be a great year for music..

For some reason, I turned down a ticket to see them on the Ghost in the Machine tour in 1981. It would have been my first gig. I was only 12 at the time, so that honour went to Adam and the Ants the same year.

I have to say that I have all The Police's stuff and cod reggae or not, I always liked them (1st four albums anyway). I would have loved to have seen them live in 78. Would I go to see them now, I think not... the world doesn't need a 25 minute jazz odyssey version of Roxanne!

No.

"70's rock band The Police may be reforming for some 2007 shows to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Their record company, A&M, have said that preliminary discussions are in the work for a summer tour and also mentioned that the band's back catalog would be released this year too. Apparently an official announcement should be made by the end of January."

Would that be Stewart Copeland ?

Anyway, really liked the early Police stuff. Was listening to 'Fall Out' the other day and thought how good it was. I liked up until Zenyata Mondata, but 'Ghosts In The Machine' signalled the demise of my interest.
