The Slits weren't always an all girl band - after Palm Olive left they recruited Budgie on drums before he joined The Banshees. On first listen they were shockingly awful but did have some sort of strange appeal on further hearing, if you could manage to bring yourself to do it! I'm not sure that I could cope with going to see them live nowadays - they were very much "of the time" when it didn't matter quite so much if you were, well, like The Slits!!
