Been listening to the 'Best Of British..' for a couple of weeks now. And I must say, what a shit hot compilation this is!
Especially the 2CD version!
Not sure if the Pistols tracks were necessary meself. If so, I reckon the likes of 'New York' & 'Submission' would have been better choices here. 'Memories' should never have been omitted btw.
Overall, a good document of Lydon's output. The good, the bad & the awful!
'The Rabbit Song' - I ask you! fucking terrible
'Sun' is not much better!
After listening to this cd you're left in no doubt that after the 80's Mr Rotten was a spent force. Apart from 'Open Up' - Top tune!
Great to hear the likes of 'Seattle' & 'Cruel' again and the early stuff really does sound like it's out on it's own Maaaan!!!!

There is an excellent 4-CD anthology out there called 'Plastic Box' - covers the 'best of..' but also includes a couple of 12" mixes and BBC sessions.
It has something for the completist - but overall is an really good introduction to the band as it 'covers all the bases'.
Recommended.

Allow me to re-arrange your face, sometimes I'd really like to get to know you better
