You may have only read the one review then.

It is, no doubt, a sonic cacophony, the 'Eraserhead' of music (if 'music's' the right terminology). Allegedly the last of a trilogy which Tilt and The Drift make up the other two, Bish Bosch has been best (in my opinion) described as: "Bosch, the 15th-century Dutch painter, is notable for his fantastical renderings of half-human, half-demon creatures. The album could serve as a soundtrack to Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights. Bosch’s famous triptych depicts two panels of Eden—before and during original sin—but it is most notable for the third panel’s representation of punishment in hell. Supposedly, the giant, cavernous “Tree-Man” is a representation of the anti-Christ. Walker’s album presents only the third panel."

It is desolate, grotesque, bleak, and in turns; funny. It is by no means 'unlistenable', but it represents almost nothing (however, there are some wonderful passages) that the average Joe would describe as 'pop' - One Direction, it ain't. Nothing is organic about this album, it has been constructed - meticulously.

Avant garde surrealism. It certainly won't be on repeat, but it definately isn't unlistenable.
