Devo are fun. That's the bottom line and always will be. I haven't seen them live yet, but I'm sure it'll be a great show. And if it isn't, then I've only wasted £80 for two tickets, £50 on a Manchester hotel, and god knows how much on petrol to get to the gig!

My tickets arrived yesterday :)

We'll all Devo now...

You've talked me into it 8)

I only have the Hot Potatoes compilation which is good. Must get one or two more albums before the gig. I remember John Peel playing Devo a lot in the early days and they sounded very weird at the time. Jocko Homo sounded so different from the punk / reggae stuff he was playing. Still think their version of Satisfaction is pure genius (up there with Walk on By as one of the best reworkings ever).

I do remember Hugh raving about the promos/live DVD - he was saying how brilliant it was. Must get that some time too.

See you there Toiler

Due to unforseen circustances I will not be in Scotchland to see the spuds.
Tottally gutted to miss it.
One of the very few bands I like I've yet to see live. Bet it's a blinder as well.

One of your usual excellent reviews Don, please.

DEVO After Party in Manchester, UK

If you plan on attending DEVO's live show in Manchester, UK on June 23rd, then you will definitely want to go to the after party being held that night. Here's the info:

WHEN: June 23rd - 11pm until 3am
WHERE: The ROADHOUSE, Newton St., Piccadilly, Manchester
WHO: Live performance by Devo tribute band, DEVO UK.
WHY: Because "We're *all* Devo!"

Those after show parties always make me laugh - there's never any band members there and you can bet your arse there'll be a door fee

To be honest this is a new one on me.
I know that most DEVO gigs in the states are followed by an after-show gathering where band members do actually turn up.

Even if you're gonna be cynical, the Manchester 'after-show' only costs 3-4 quid! with a tribute band (maybe guests) and a bar until 3.00am!

EVERYONE'S A WINNER!
