I saw The Undertones at The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham last night. Excellent gig in a good venue.

I was very impressed with the new vocalist, sounds very Feargal, which may not be a good thing. Anyway, the fact that The Undertones have a new lead vocalist, seemed irrelevant such was the quality of the gig. Nice to see all the original members looking just how I remember them from my last Undertones gig (Rock City - 'Sin Of Pride Tour' - 1983). Maybe not.

The set-list comprised of material from the first 2 albums, early singles and B.sides with a few songs from 'Get WhatYou Need' thrown in.

First class gig including 2 encores which still didn't seem to be enough. When the band had finished the venue went into 'club night' mode. I managed to get the DJ to play a Stranglers track - 'ADAAOTN' - and for the first time in years - I DANCED!.....sort of ...Oh dear!

Feargal who?

Good review Bazzer. I knew you'd like em. They're sounding better than ever live these days. Apparently they went down a storm at the Birmingham all-dayer too. Catch em if you can.

Yes!..in one of the encores..superb!....

I can't actually remember them playing 'Teenage Kicks' however, which I find surprising...

..could be wrong though!....very well-oiled by the end of the night! :booze:

I saw em in Leeds earlier this year. I loved them, new guy is a great performer but on record he suffers a bit from the JJs - goes all operatic. New album's ok though.
Mars Bars was the highlight.

I was stood near the bar for a bit and then moved into the middle for the rest of it.

I fancied a bit of Good Heart. Got talking to the singer after, embarrassed meself as usual. He seemed decent enough. Chatted to a couple of Stranglers fans, you weren'y one were you? I had a Joe Strummer t shirt on.
