As I understand it John played on Gabriel's 4th album. I always thought Ellis was playing on "Shock The Monkey" it sounds like his guitar style (the slight guitar chops and stabs that appear on it - particular the bits at the end). According to Wikipedia he only played on 2 tracks on that album and that wasn't one of them. Anyone know? Presumably he toured with Gabriel at this time also?

No idea if he played on "Shock the Monkey" or not. I suspect not, but I love that album. That and So are probably my favourite two albums of his, even above the third album which - while great - I don't enjoy as much.
