I remember Ash
Whatever happened to Charlotte? Had some great solo singles I loved but then???
Oooh I know this one, me! me!

Her third solo album, "New Worlds" came out in 2009 and features top tracks "White" and "Alexander". Around this time she did a DJ set supported by various bands including some nobheads called Parasite.
After this Charlotte reinvented herself as Sylver Tongue and released a synth-based EP. The proposed album never came out.
In 2017 her fourth solo album "True Love" was released incorporating some of the Sylver Tongue tracks and much more synthier and spacey sound overall. It's a pretty good album and features Green from Scritti Politti on the final track.
In 2020 she released a mini album collaboration with TJ Allen called "Traveller" which was a soundtrack to a film. There's some good stuff on here too, in fact you've inspired me to put it on again this afternoon.

Hope this helps. I'm a bit of a fan...

Even though they'd already had one album under their belt when she joined, I don't think Ash have been anywhere near as good since she left.

I'd broadly agree with this but there were some of their best ever tracks in the A-Z Series of singles they did, highly recommended, plus some well worthwhile songs on Kablammo! which I thought was a really good album.

Islands was a lot patchier though in my opinion.

Btw, I'm credited for handclaps and footstomps on "Go! Fight! Win!" and I recorded some backing vocals for "Rock N Roll Requires Repetition" but sadly no credit for that one...

My fave track on that album is Free - which one of Tim's finest songs ever

There were going to be some of my handclaps on that one too I think, but they decided not to use them in the end.
Evel Knievel is an awesome little instrumental number, I saw them recording the strings section for that, really cool!
I also think Dispatch is an underrated track.

I actually prefer it in comparison to Kablammo! but I don't think either record is as good as 1977, Nu-Clear Sounds, Free All Angels or Meltdown. "Buzzkill" could easily have been written about COVID-19  I'd rank Twilight of the Innocents as their worst record overall, though.

I would say something along the lines of:
1. Free All Angels
2. 1977
3. Trailer (if that counts as an album)
4. A-Z Series (if that counts too)
5. Kablammo!
6. Nu-Clear Sounds
7. Meltdown
8. Twilight of the Innocents
9. Islands

None of them are actually bad though. Buzzkill and Annabel are fun songs, Confessions In the Pool is a good 'un and I quite like Somersault too.

You'll notice that the only 2000's Stranglers single which follows this pattern was the only one that went top 40. There should have been another CD format of LBV and Spectre...
If you wrapped LBV in £20 notes it still would not have sold more!

If there was another format for the obsessives to buy then it would have gone top 40. The charts were at an all time low sales-wise around that time so even a few extra hundred would probably have done the job.
