Possible band re-unions you'd like to see

Post by theraven1979 »

The recent Damned news got me thinking. What other bands would you like to see reform. They have to have the original members alive.

The only one that comes to mind right now is The Undertones with Fergal.

This is a difficult one, can we bend the rules just a tiny bit as these bands aren’t strictly with original members but the ones we came to know and love.

I can only think of three at the moment -
Cocteau Twins
The Jam
The Smiths

Yeah Arthur - happy to go with the most popular well known/classic lineups

Talking Heads.

There aren’t many I can think of - maybe Dead Kennedys and Black Flag, and away from punk, Roxy Music.

The Shamen 1985-1987 line up would be interesting. The Will Sin era is my favourite but sadly long deceased. I'd be more than happy to settle for the CGA/Mr C line up instead though.

Thompson Twins original lineup, either the 4 piece from the early singles or even better if the 7 piece from the early albums.

The Offspring. It is an outrage that they've fired Greg... Will accept either James or Ron on drums.

The Undertones with Feargal would be good, but he doesn't even acknowledge his roll in band now, so unlikely but if Damned can Bury hatchet who knows, the undertones still great band, but I saw them with Feargal in 1982 at Poole arts centre they were fucking great. Lt Kudu.

Can't think of many that I'd like to see that haven't already reformed at some point or that have all of the members still with us, and it's far too late for some of them. A John Foxx-era Ultravox reformation would not be any good (they're far too old to play things Fear in the Western World or Young Savage) and neither would a reunion of The Jam for a variety of reasons, but mostly down to the fact that Weller's voice has changed so much since that he can no longer do justice to some of that material in the way that the Jam used to play them, and he has evolved so much in his solo work that he's no longer in that headspace.

Tough one Jim....The Jam...The Damned..Slade( with noddy) X...XTC...999...Banshees..SLF...The Police...The Skids...Undertones.The problem is theres so many great bands from the 70s-80s that i'd love to see together again but they would be to old and past it.

Blink-182

Whats next? New Kids on the Block?

Seriously, Undertones with Feargal indeed, Sex Pistols and Slade. Other bands I can think of have original members that have moeved to pastures greener...
