Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
For me Iron Maiden only ever made 1 good album, and that was the very first one called "Iron Maiden". I've never been able to get into any of the others..

Yeah, if I only had to choose one then that would probably be it.Rich wrote: ↑28 Jul 2020, 11:08I actually quite lie 'Around The Sun' (songs were much better live). However, my favourite REM album is 'New Adventures....'Cells&Plasma wrote: ↑27 Jul 2020, 21:16I like Fables of The Reconstruction and Life's Rich Pageant.StanInBlack wrote:
I disagree with all of you and I'd say that the only R.E.M. album I don't like is Around the Sun.

Elastica spring to mind. One of the best debuts by a young band in the '90s, their second and final album was a sorry thing indeed.

Probably one of the biggest sources of income on the record post 1990 was Elastica's Waking Up

Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
I remember seeing that on Top of the Pops with Damon Albarn guesting on keyboards (I think he played on the album as well) and I couldn't believe how blatant it was! Annie the bassist was the main Stranglers fan in the band from what I heard. There's a track on the second album that ends with a "Nice'n'Sleazy" quote!theraven1979 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 20:40 Probably one of the biggest sources of income on the record post 1990 was Elastica's Waking Up

Justine was the one wearing The Stranglers T-Shirts though if I recall.

Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
I was gonna say that too but they later released the rather excellent Everything Must Go, so...
They said they were intending to write just the one ‘classic’ album like the Pistols - Bollocks and become millionaires and leave it at that, their debut was great but not that great.

Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
The Manics have released about five or six great albums to my mind, and none of 'em are Generation Terrorists.

Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
I do like a few songs but as a whole I could never get into that album, thought it was very overrated, will have to give it another listen as it’s been a while.
Re: Bands with just 1 decent album
Yes Generation Terrorists has only got a few good tracks hasn't it. I agree, I think they've done plenty of really good albums right up to now.
