Re: Name the last brilliant album you bought ?
I remember hearing that Girls Names album four years ago and thinking "ooh, well this is a pleasant take on late '70s post-punk - nothing spectacular, but highly enjoyable, if about 9 years late for the post-punk revival" ... then I checked out their other stuff and it was crap indie surf rock.
Re: Name the last brilliant album you bought ?
I enjoyed the last Feeder album. Probably not quite brilliant though.

I haven't heard it yet but I'll get around to it.jetblacksdad wrote: ↑15 May 2017, 20:04 I think Mark Lanegan's new album, Gargoyle is really excellent.

I've liked a lot of his stuff going all the way back to 'Screaming Trees'.

The first 3 tracks off the new Elbow album are brilliant. I'm not sure about the rest of it yet though.

Possibly the last Killing Joke one . Got it roughly same time as Giants ( which most certainly wasn't ) , only other album I've bought in the last few years was Chelsea (punk band ) , don't get many these days .
All quiet ..........

Can't remember what I heard that got me interested, might have been
off the back of that Me and that Man album mentioned above.

Mike Oldfield - Return to Ommadawn.
I love pretty much all his music and this is a very long awaited album.
