The gent on the right side of the MAGAZINE cover looks like a mashup of Tor Johnson and a giant robot from an old Bella Lugosi serial.

If I remember correctly the cover is a photo from a new York Street photographer and is an actual photo.

Nah, most of those don't do it for me, Unknowded Pleasures and La Folie, maybe.
And La Folie only cos I remember an article I read about how
fucken hard it was to take the front cover pic. In the days
before digital manipulation, photoshop etc, the band really had to
be stood over a pool of water until the photographer got the best
reflections.
The back cover pic, though, is another story. I think we've all
taken a similar pic at some time in the last 40 years!
And La Folie only cos I remember an article I read about how
