SLF in the charts
Stiff Little Fingers new album entered the charts at 28 this week.
A fine effort considering that the album was first released earlier in the year via Pledge Music.
I was surprised to see it enter the charts this week as I got my copy of the album about 4 weeks ago from FOPP in Manchester. Does anyone know why it should have charted now?
The album itself is very good. Recommended if you have not picked up it yet.

Re: SLF in the charts
That's good to hear but I find the album very average - lyrically and musically pretty simplistic

28 is higher than recent Stranglers albums isn't it but you would have thought the Stranglers have a far bigger following wouldn't you?

Re: SLF in the charts
yep, the last Stranglers studio album to chart higher than that was 10... closest since then were About Time (31) and In the Night (33). Giants was about 48 I think.jason wrote:28 is higher than recent Stranglers albums isn't it but you would have thought the Stranglers have a far bigger following wouldn't you?

Wasn't it also No 1 in the Rock Chart? - whatever that means.

for me 'when we were young ' is a great song tbh i saw them in tampa with the offspring and had no intention of buying the CD as the last time i saw them was the guernsey / jersey jaunt with the MIB and the last cd i bought of theirs was flags and emblems but that song was so good i had to buy it and its quality
Re: SLF in the charts
I've got the Pledge edition of this with a bonus disc of demos.

Re: SLF in the charts
Is the album worth buying? It has great reviews, but reluctant after their last one, which I thought was patchy.

Or, coupla boring tracks, the rest is good. Depending on your point of view.meanie wrote:Coupla good tracks, the rest is boring imo
Only way to know is to give it a listen and make your own mind up.
I love it. And the new Buzzcocks album as well. I just wish The Damned would go this route and do a crowd-funded album.
