I think they got away with it without Jerry Dammers but without the other two not worth seeing for me not at that price anyway. Neville can't tour anymore due to ill health and Roddy had issues with the others and is concentrating on his own band now.

Yeh, they weren't upto much really when I saw them last year to be honest. Went to see a ska cover band afterwards called 2 Rude and it was much better fun.

I think they should have called it a day if all the original members were not committed to the band long term for a proper reunion including new stuff. Obviously with Jerry Dammers missing they were missing something lyrically for any new venture and it took long enough for all ex members to get back together as it was. The reunion shows were really good but appearing every few years with ever depleting line ups would ruin their legacy and just flogging the nostalgia circuit playing increasing smaller venues. Bringing in replacements and session musicians at this stage of their career wouldn't work its rather like the Sex Pistols touring without any original members. If the specials had continued through the 80s and 90s with various replacements then maybe it would be more acceptable. It's a shame no new material came out of the reunion shows in very much the same way the Police and Sex Pistols didn't bother with anything.

They were talking about new material at one point. But I've been lucky to say that I've seen the best band in the world ever (Yes, I know!!!) live and with only 1 missing member

I'm utilising my "would I pay that to see the Stranglers" yardstick.

Saw them in 2009 and they were bloody fantastic , one of my favourite all time gigs , again in 2011 and very good but some of the spark had gone then 2013 without Neville and they were awful , can't imagine how they will be without Roddy now ... If you get the chance go see the Neville Staples band they were brilliant last year and Roddy with his ska billy rebels ain't bad either .... But the fun boy four forget it especially at £40 a pop
