recommendations? VDGG, Steel Pulse

Post by Bobinblack »

Been listening to the Stranglers & Friends CDs and had forgotten how brilliant Peter Hammill's voice is, so was wondering what's considered his best recordings (with Van Der Graf Generator?). Same with Steel Pulse.

Van Der Graaf Generator : Pawn Hearts is their masterpiece, IMO. H to He was great too. Some great stuff on their previous albums as well. This was their very first era, 1968-72. I'm not very much into their later works. Interesting bonus tracks on CD reissues.

I quite like Hammill's "The Noise" album - features a certain John Ellis on guitar as well.
