In my opinion, it is one of the Damned's best albums after MGE & The Black Album.
Some of their best songs, such as Generals, Ignite, Gun Fury, Stranger On The Town,
Bad Time For Bonzo etc, are on this album.

The Deluxe edition with all the b-sides is superb.
Freedom, there ain't no f**king freedom!!!!

Bought it about 8 times in all it's different guises - Love it to bits - melodic, jolly good fun pop at it's best.

One of my favourite albums

Yeah, one of my favourites too. Got the album when it came out,
with the scratch-n-sniff Strawberry insert too. 8)

Yeah, me too, I dug out the vinyl last year to see if it was still whiffy...and it was !!!
That's proper quality merchandise, with a smell that has now lingered for 29 years.
Great album. 8)

I loved the vinyl version as the sleeve smelt of strawberries. I think the Damned are possibly the best punk 'singles' band there has been, with respect to their albums always being a bit disappointing imho. One of THE best debut singles ever imho too, even beating Grip by our band, sacrilege of me though that will seem to some :P
Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

Excellent album. The Damned produced a few cracking albums. "The Black Album", "Strawberries" & "Machine Gun Etiquette" are my favourites. I read somewhere that they are touring in November and playing the two albums "Damned Damned Damned" & "The Black Album" in their entirety. 8)
Hugh - "We had gangs of skinheads coming along trying to cause problems and stuff"
Rick Wakeman - "How did you deal with it?"
Hugh - "Our bass player used to jump off the stage and beat the shit out of them!"
