Oh, I definitely do believe they were referring to themselves. That band didn't do ANYTHING by accident, especially on that particular album (a concept record, obviously) where everything seems to have been pored over relentlessly. There's even a third reference in the lyric to 'Some Day One Day' (from the same album): "and you shall be a Queen". I think all of these examples were definitely playing off the fact that the bands name was Queen - after all, they were THAT type of band.
