Not just that, but their second album 'Queen II' (from 1974) has two songs called 'White Queen (As It Began)' and 'The March Of The Black Queen' (one on each side - weirdly, like 'Black And White', this album also has a 'black side' and a 'white side' , with Brian May's more straight-ahead rock stuff on the white side and Freddie Mercury's more ambitious, aerie-faerie operatic stuff on the black side - this album was also produced by Roy Thomas Baker, who produced '10')
But i wouldnt call that mentioning their own band name in the lyrics, the song name or lyrics just happen to have a word in them which is also in the band name, they are certainly not referring to themselves which is what i thought was the name of the game.

Oh, I definitely do believe they were referring to themselves. That band didn't do ANYTHING by accident, especially on that particular album (a concept record, obviously) where everything seems to have been pored over relentlessly. There's even a third reference in the lyric to 'Some Day One Day' (from the same album): "and you shall be a Queen". I think all of these examples were definitely playing off the fact that the bands name was Queen - after all, they were THAT type of band.

The Members 'Solitary Confinement'

''The Members are gonna tell you what it's like to be....
On your own (by your self)
On your own (by your self)
On your own (by your self)
On your own (by your self)
By yourelf, by yourself, by yourself, by yourself.....
Buy yourself this record''

Not only mentioning themselves but incorporating an advert for the record in the lyrics of the song.

Crass mention themselves in Have a Nice Day off Christ the Album.

Same old stuff, youve heard it all before, Crass being crass about the system, or is it war?

Isn't that bit called "Down Under" on the album sleeve? It's not listed separately in the tracks, but above the lyrics on the sleeve it has that title.

Anyway....

Shabba Ranks seems to shout "Shabba" in every song he did. OK, the one song he did that I've heard.

Bob Marley on the song "Punky Reggae Party" sings names of the bands who are to be guests at his punk music party, written in 1977 by Lee Perry and Bob Marley in homage to the Punk / New Wave scene flourishing in Britain at the time, and to the young punks who loved '70's reggae and fused it into their own punky dub sound... The Ruts for example excelled in this genre 8)
The Wailers will be there, the Damned, the Jam, the Clash... the Wailers will be there, Dr Feelgood too! no boring old fart will be there!

Jerry Lee Lewis is also known as "The Killer" so arguably this one could fit into the category of bands who mention other bands in their lyrics.
