"Super Deluxe" versions

Post by theraven1979 »

As if the "deluxe" version of CDs wasn't enough we now have "Super Deluxe" priced around 80-90 quid

Bowie has just release one http://www.zavvi.com/cd/david-bowie/sta ... 22669.html

and the new Manics CD super deluxe comes in at £95

And we think we're hard done to by EMI re-releasing the same tired Compilation every 6 months?

Just say NO!

Bloody hell Jim-if the Stranglers released anything at that price the forum would be inundated with disgruntled fans complaining about being ripped off!

As much as I love Bowie I wouldn't pay that kind of money. His albums have been re-released umpteen times in the last 20 years and just adding a few studio outtakes and some obscure live recording is not a dangling carrot to the most ardent fan for that price.

Yeah and I for one couldn't see the stranglers really hoping to shift such a package...

Not that I would ever get it (unless someone gave it me ) that is a mega package. Does anyone know if it is just Station to Station getting this treatment or other Bowie albums as well? Have to say Station to Station is one of my favorite Bowie albums actually.

"Super Deluxe"...wot a hi-tech label. I suppose "New and Improved" was already taken by a soap company.

Already been done with loadsa others - I was nearly tempted by The Stone Roses anniversary package - but have the original vinyl and CD, but I did shell out on the 'special' anniversary remastered CD plus extras when given an HMV voucher at Chrimbo.

Deluxe would do me.

I have said it before, the two that stand out for me as exemplary reissues compiled with love that only a real fan can inject are:

London Calling
All Mod Cons

I still fail to understand why something similar couls not be done with the Ravem. The material is there and I am convinved that there is sufficient interest to make the venture financially viable!
