Wilko Johnson

Post by bill »

Just got back from my first Wilko gig - HIGHLY recommended if you ever get a chance to see him. Great mix of Feelgoods & solo stuff, and it's a hell of an experience standing a few feet away from him while he's playing "She Does It Right". The man is a legend. 8)

Jimmy Page and Peter Buck were there, apparently (100 Club, Oxford Street) - picking up some tips, lads???

I was gonna go but then I remembered me mums birthday! Wilko is great but I've seen him so many times in recent years I figured I could miss this one for my mum!
But next time he plays on July 17th, mum will be coming with me!

Happy birthday to your mum from me - next year, she's down the front, stood next to me, both of us perching our pints on the edge of the stage and generally giving it some welly - agreed?

Superb stuff, seen him several times-with my second favourite bass player ever, Norman Watt-Roy-what a man! They were due to play down this way, at Penzance, later in the year, but I guess that's gone down the pan as the venue's closing. Shame, not seen them for a while.

JEALOUS! I won't be seeing him again until October, which seems an awfully long way away right now... If you do make it, enjoy!
