Great stuff and top work there Griff.

If yer still feeling in an interviewee kinda mood Al, I'd be very interested to know how it felt when you first heard Burning Up Time, with the Finchley Boys references?

Thanks for you kind words Clair, Baz and Alias….glad you liked it. It’s all a bit of good clean fun in this wicked, wicked old world……….and totally ‘Free’……

Alias, I can’t remember where I heard Burning up time ‘live’ for the first time but I know where I was when I heard it on the album. We were all at Dennis’s mum and Dad’s flat in Elmhurst Crescent. We had a copy of NMH just before it was released and we played it over and over. I know Den has said that it didn’t really bother him, well that may well be true but if I’m totally honest I would have to say that I was proud, reallt proud, that the boys had recognised our presence in that way and I still love that song.

I was lucky enough to have been present at various stages of the recording of the NMH album and that is something that I can never forget……As everyone knows, TW was a tiny little studio under a launderette just off the Fulham Palace Rd but at the time it seemed intimate and perfect for them……..

What a brilliant album NMH is and it still sounds so ‘fresh’ ………I love it.

I might get hammered later tonight and have a proper listen………..yea…..fuck it……….why not.

I'm sitting here, coughing me guts up with a fairly nasty cold and trying to come to terms with the fact that I have agreed to go and see The Human League in concert tonight. However, this mini interview has cheered me up no end. A great read. 8)
