Post by Halifax Linda »

Today I rewatched 7 not seen it in ages
Also on Prime found film called London Town bit of a feel good movie set in 1979.
Plus caught first episode of House Of Cards that I enjoyed
I do like a good drama. Just wondering what anyone else watching.

3 films that I would recommend on Prime that I have watched during lockdown. 1 Lion. 2. The Last Right. 3. Free State of Jones. All different but all excellent. And for the punk in us, We are the League documentary about the Anti Nowhere League - such a laugh. If I remember any others I will let you know.

Was that the original UK version, or the US remake? I've just watched the first series of the US version and enjoyed it a lot. I don't recall watching the UK version, but I probably did.

On current TV I've been enjoying both "The Serpent" and "The Great", both of which are on tonight but nearly over on actual TV.

On Drama, the re-runs channel, I've been watching "Waking the Dead", the old BBC series about the cold case squad. I did watch that when it was first on, but it was years ago so I've forgotten virtually all of it. Before that, Drama showed "Spooks" from the very start to the very end, which I also enjoyed a lot.

Dear Halifax Linda,

Good evening and thank you for your timely post.

I was literally about to post on a similar topic about the TV channel, ITV 4.

ITV 4 has brought me great pleasure in the last few weeks; namely between Mondays to Fridays and between the hours of 12.30pm to 5pm.

Why ? You might ask.

Well, every day (Monday to Friday) and between 12.30pm to approximately 5pm and in running order, you are served with Sherlock Holmes (now, "The Return of Sherlock Holmes"), Dempsey & Makepeace, The Sweeney and then The Avengers.

Classic British TV but I find Dempsey & Makepeace somewhat poor.

ITV 4, for some extraordinary reason, commits itself to the most dullest of horse racing over the weekends but between Monday and Friday afternoons, it is in its element.

In this regard, I wholly commend ITV 4 to this Committee.

Best wishes,

Lord London

Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Bett is classic.
Love the Sweeney even though I think I’ve seen them all.
Also like Tales of the Unexpected.

On that basis, you should look at "Forces TV" if you can get it, up in the high nineties. That often has stuff from a similar era.
