Re: JEREMY CORBYN - ELECTED LABOUR LEADER
Can't be arsed arguing, but not everyone sees getting rid of Trident as being an invitation to be attacked.
That in principle is the basis of an age-old argument about nuclear disarmament.
He has been voted in as the leader of the Opposition, he's not suddenly going to be able to implement the supposed changes he allegedly would want to implement.
'Just because you shout loudest, doesn't mean that you're right' - Reverend & The Makers. I'll believe what I hear about Corbyn when I hear it from him and officially the party, then I'll make my own mind up about him. Labour needs massive change and he is the best choice to bring change about.

Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

Martin McGuinness @M_McGuinness_SF
Heartiest congratulations to our friend @jeremycorbyn on his stunning election as the new Leader of the Labour Party.
Thats all you need to know about the man now at the helm of the Labour Party.
He was though, by far, the best candidate of the four. He does stand for something, I suppose. compared to the other three gobshites. Pity that something is cosying up to all the tired tedious up the revolution ballbags around the world.
No doubt he'll become flavour of the month with the media and the lefty twitter types. They'll work themselves into a frenzy about how he's going to change the world, until election time, when reality will bite hard...and labour will be trounced.

Interesting times ahead, politically.
With the support for UKIP on the right and for Corbyn on the left, the disaffected are polarising. Meanwhile, in Scotland, the SNP show no signs of accepting the democratic result of the "once in a generation" independence referendum and are already starting the push for another vote.
Corbyn seems to be a dinosaur. Nationalisation was tried and failed and trade union power was abused to the point it undermined democracy. He wants to revive both. And he enjoys the support and "friendship" of people who have employed terrorism to achieve political aims.
I don't doubt his sincerity but his politics would be more acceptable from the leader of the Student's Union not the Labour Party.

Completely unelectable (in terms of PM), of course, but my prediction (for what it's worth!) is that he'll be ousted at the start of the next campaign, and Tom Watson will take over.
Watson as leader now would have been the subject of 5 years worth of bashing by the media; if he's slated by them during an election campaign, it'll be easy to shrug off as sour grapes due to his participation in the Leveson inquiry, and Labour will at least stand a chance of winning.
While it's so refreshing to hear socialist policies from the Labour party again, rather than the Tory-lite shite they think we want to hear, Corbyn's too horribly 70s to make it all the way. Hopefully, some of his ideas will survive him, and sanity will prevail. If Cameron is true to his word and stands down in time for the next election, then his natural successor would surely be George (Don't Do That) Osborne - and you think things are bad now; at least Call Me Dave pretends to care what people think about him.
Or Boris... [shudders]

Re: JEREMY CORBYN - ELECTED LABOUR LEADER
The idea of Tom Watson taking over in a few years makes perfect sense to me. Corbyn will be 70 at the next election and I think the 4 or 5 years of smears and abuse he'll be getting from The Sun, Mail and Torygraph will age him considerably

So, the new Shadow Chancellor was happy to say..
"It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle.
"It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table.
"The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA...
"The deaths of innocent civilians in IRA attacks is a real tragedy, but it was as a result of British occupation in Ireland.
"Because of the bravery of the IRA and people like Bobby Sands we now have a peace process."
What a cunt.
