RSD - Summer In The City
If the original version of 'Summer In The City' by The Lovin' Spoonful was released as a Record Store Day numbered Ltd Edition on coloured vinyl, backed with the Stranglers version would you buy it? This is in no way a reflection on Paul Roberts, who had a fine voice and who helped keep the band alive and kicking. I'm just interested in what Stranglers product you would actually buy? Go Buddy Go by the MIB backed with the Meteors version, anyone?

Quite like Dionne, so am getting this years bootleg, but the one you say????? Maybes not. PR doesn't want anything to do with his time in the band these days.

I quite liked the Stranglers' version of this song, quite similar to the original but more modern. I didn't buy the Walk on By release, mainly because there aren't any indie record shops near here, and I don't feel £12 is good value.

I actually think the covers the Stranglers have done are very good
Summer In The City with Hugh, would have been superb!
I don't really class WOB as a cover anyway, the lyrics mean nothing,it's the sublime music by the band that make this record
apart from "stroll in the trees" of course
