Oh yes - The Flashing Blade - BRILLIANT . Got it on DVD - never could find another like it I saw - Thibaud the Crusader , set in the crusades around 1200ish .
When footballers were bloody hard as nails - Bremner , Hunter , Giles ,Clarke, Madeley , Harvey - kicked one of them and the whole lot would probably break your leg at sometime - then the player would still get up and carry on playing  . Not the overpaid cissy ponces who cry if someone is within 5 feet of them nowadays - you could TACKLE then , kick . bloody hell , punches were seen - then there MIGHT be a booking .
The Sweeney , The Professionals, Blakes 7 .
A good , fun decade IMO - the 80's was the start of too much commercialism and crap etc

To those that miss Jackie Lee singing White Horses, here it is,

Did ya know she also sang the theme tune to Rupert Bear too ?(1970).

Even better she also sang the theme tune to Barbarella  (1969).

Texan bars. (Remember the orange version)? Cresta, "It`s frothy maaaan"! The comic cartoon creations of Leo Baxendale, Willy the Kid/Grimley Feendish/Sweeny Toddler. Spike Milligans Q5 - 9 series.

Texan bars and Cresta contained now banned substances. Leo Baxendales (later)creations, not the little plum,Beano creations were very creepy and contained LOTS of content that would NEVER be printed now, on the grounds of being either suspect,or verging on well erm! Read Willy the Kid,1,2 &3 and you`ll see?
And as for dear old Spike. No-one since has come near to him in terms of creative, anarchic,"out there-ness" - ness!!! since???

A lot of people are saying that you never see white dog-shit like you did back in the 70's, I thought this as well until the other day when I watched the Jeremy Kyle show.
Oh the bliss, oh the pleasure caressing your ears.

A lot of people slate the 70's , I really don't know why , it was the last real innovative decade IMO . TV may have come of age in the 80's perphaps but i think for music it was the 70's . The 80's became to insipid and samey and very pretentious IMO ( including our fave's a bit - Aural Sculpture ) . The 70's was the last decade that people were really willing to take a chance - both music and TV in general , of course there will always be exceptions now and again .
Another TV memory - the original "Survivors " - now that was drama , speaking of which many of the best BBC drama's were from that decade , some of the best serial's ( Onedin Line , Brothers ) . I think it was on the whole a good decade - oh yes , Bremner , Clarke , Giles , Lorimer , Harvey , Revie ......dirty bastards I know , but they could play a bit .
Best world cup ? 74 or 78 .....still fond memories of both , maybe the first two I watched properly .
