Remember Stuff

After a couple of weeks research on here, I think I've got the hang of this "popular threads" thing, so here goes:.


Lets do a list of all the stuff we remember, eh? One big definetive list, of
all the stuff. Stuff we used to have, or see, or listen to, or do or lust over,
a big list, with them all on it. Handy, it'll be too, once we all get that Alzheimer's.

Or, we could do a great big list, right? Of all the stuff, yeah?

Ok?
Right, I'll start:


Em, Marbles, yeah?

Small glass balls, with like colours and shit inside them, came in a net bag, kids
used to choke on them, in the 70s, remember? Swap them, yeah, you could swap
them too, and some were bigger than other ones. There might have been a game
too (?) where older kids legally stole your best Marbles, but I seem to have wiped
that particular memory. Probably for the best.

Star Wars bubblegum cards

A packet containing six movie photo cards which you'd collect into a giant set.
Once you had all the cards, they'd form a giant picture on the reverse.

Pack also contained a stick of bright pink bubblegum.


Also came in a Superman edition......

Mmmm, brittle gum.
Had a collection of these too, probably still do, in a box somewhere.
Anyone else remember the Punk cards that were similar?
I always remember feeling cheated when I got Thin Lizzy, one time.

I started a lot earlier than that. My first collection was 'Land Of The Giants'.

And then there were all the rubber sharks when 'Jaws' first came out. Everything had a shark on it.

And 'Action Man' before he had any hair and before he could talk.

And 'Letraset' transfers. You'd rub the back and put your cowboy / spaceman / knight on the supplied panoramic background. Unless you did it wrong and only half would transfer.

And packets of plastic soldiers with a pontoon bridge but a tank that was totally wrong scale.

Oh, and 'Hot Wheels'. :)

I remember 'Hot Wheels' when they were just Matchbox cars. Also Cadbury made a bar called an 'Aztec'
