Thats truly tragic. He singlehandedly made cooking programmes enjoyable and his support of Thr Stranglers no doubt endeared folks on here to him. He will be sadly missed. I bet he had a great life though. He will be joining Richard Harris-Ollie Reed-Keith Moon in the great Boozer in the sky. :( :( :( :( :(

His cookery programmes were the only ones worth watching he was like the punk of tv chefs and didn't give a toss of what people thought of him and used to say it like it was, always had a trusty glass of wine on hand. He was always a good friend to the Mib and Hugh in particular and I am sure Hugh is feeling very sad today as well.

Too right there fella. Now we are stuck with the new breed of tv chefs the likes of oliver and all so boring.
