BEST OPENING LYRICS TO A SONG...(Revisited?)
O.K ..we may have been here before and maybe I shoulda took my own advice and done a search..BUT! I was inspired by the best intros thread and couldn't be arsed to do a search, being the ultra-punk that I am etc.
Anyhoos I was listening to a song by THERAPY? earlier which is entitled 'KNIVES', a cute little ditty which I'm sure some of you are quite familiar with. I ain't played it for a while but I have to admit that the opening line;
"I'm gonna get drunk, come round and fuck you up!" must rank as one of the best opening lines ever. Any more folks? So many to choose from......

Never been much of a Jam fan to be honest, but they played this track twice on the wireless this week and it occured to me what a bloody good song it is. A bit late to realise it I know, but there you are.
I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.

I was listening to a song by 'Razorlight' earlier which I thought was total & utter tosh. However I didn't dismiss the song completely because I'll probably appreciate it more in 30 years time. You have to give bands a chance is wot I say. Having said that, my appreciation of the likes of Marillion & Meatloaf has not increased over the last 3 decades or so.

Too bloody right.I'd gladly cut off Meat Loaf's limbs very slowly one at a time and watch him bleed into a big soggy mess.(metaphorically speaking of course!)
