Road Traffic Accident - Paris
Not been around for a while owing to being involved in a road traffic accident in Paris just after Christmas. I was going to work on my motorcycle one morning at around 7.30am. I was stationary a traffic light junction. Soon as the lights went green I then proceeded to cross the road. I was approximately half way across the road when I see this Merc Coupe out of my perliferal vision. I was going quite slow and the bike was in a 2nd or 3rd, can't quite remember. Anyhow, the Merc was travelling at speed, fails to stop at the red light and proceeds straight for me. I tried to give the bike some beans but it was to late, the car hit my back end at speed. From that point, all I remember was feeling masses of pain and as I was falling from the bike, trying to get myself into the recovery position and then it was lights out! Apparently the driver was on her mobile phone at the time, speeding and late for a business meeting. The road conditions were wet, so I had no chance of her stopping. Apparently she didn't see the red light or me. Luckly, there was a Gendarmerie unit close by who came to assist. One of the witnesses thought I was finished. Anyhow, she was arrested and taken to the police station. So all in all, not a great New Year. Hope every one is well.
By the way, came across this on You Tube, very nice live version of Tank http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9uld8Ss6O1A
