From my all time fave film-

'You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desparately to shed? Pure West Virginia. What's your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamb? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars...while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI.'

"A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" is all I can think of at the moment for some reason. Erm. But my two fave films of all time are MASH and Night of the Hunter and I can't pick anything out from them because it's all good... Robert Mitchum is perfect. 8)

That scene in The Ipcress File where Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) is told by his Controller, "Sorry Palmer, you're just too hot".

Great thread. 8)

Some Like It Hot.

Jerry tells Osgood he can't marry him and finally takes his wig off saying,"I'M A MAN."

Osgood ignores him and replies with movie's last line,"WELL,NOBODY'S PERFECT."

They don't make 'em like that anymore.

I remember seeing Kenneth Williams at a book signing in Leicester when I was about 11 and seeing him laugh in his inimitable way. I was a big fan then. I was too shy to approach him and regret it now.

John Wayne's delivery of "Truly this was the son of god", the last line in "The Robe".
