Whet the fuck do you expect at their age. Have you been to a gig in the last decade, band have faired a lot better than their audience.

Yeah, I certainly wasn't referring to the way that they've aged - more the fact that it's a picture of a trio with only one original member there, and quite grim when you compare and contrast with any picture of the band as they were from 1977-1990 or even MKII to MKIV with Jet. It's like the textbook example of the type of picture you see of a band that are long past their prime and trading off of old memories after most of the wheels have fallen off.

Still, wtf do you expect.
It’s a trio because that is now what The Stranglers is. The important thing is the sound they make. The vast majority of us seem more than satisfied with the latest album, and are looking forward to seeing them live, which I expect will be emotional in places, and obviously different, but hopefully still brilliant (which is also what I thought when listening to Dark Matters).
Then I got tired of counting all of these blessings, and then I just got tired.

But how do you take a photograph that somehow pretends recent history hasn't happened?

That promo shot isn't a manifestation of your gripes with the band - you simply read them into it.

It's as silly has holding up a recent picture of Hugh and saying, "look at his craggy face and ill fitting suit, look at his attempt to hide his huge bald patch - textbook image of a faded lead singer with a dwindling fanbase."

Not wishing to defend Stan, particularly as I've disagreed with him a fair bit recently  but maybe for him the photo is a realisation of what The Stranglers now are (i.e 1 original member).

Jim
But that realisation is then justified/explained with a string of insults on the band's status.

Could've just said, "And then there was one." if it was only about numbers.

His many, many posts pointing this out shows it’s not a realisation, but something he doesn’t like or seem to be able to accept, so keeps up his tantrum of protest.

It is what it is, we all know the situation, so whatever happens after the completed tour schedule will be for the band and management to decide, but at the moment it's looking like the final Stranglers album and they have ended on a high, will they still tour after the commitments? Fuck who the fuck knows? Sorry for the swearing. Lt Kudu feeling mean and moody today. :smt013
