Down - acoustic track

Mmm, not a fan of this one at all.
Re: Down - acoustic track
I find the guitar is the weakest part - very trad and un-Stranglers.
Re: Down - acoustic track
There are 3 definite belters on there - that'll do me - anything else is a bonus.
I count The Lines and And If You should...as un-Stranglers and I don't like them - not that veering away from a Stranglers formula is bad, not at all but it depends in which direction they go.

If personal expectations are not fulfilled how the new album should sound it's not necessary a bad album or even bad music .

You're getting your subjective/objective mixed up Lt Kudu - watch out or the Semantics Police will be rapping on your door with a truncheon voucher

not exactly been a massive bunch of laughs recently has it!markorbit wrote: ↑29 Aug 2021, 19:27Yeah, I'm the same although I think that's four songs now that are a bit downish. Maybe that's why it's called Dark Matters!theraven1979 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2021, 15:34 I do quite like this though even though I can't stop singing the Lionel Ritchie bit.

I'm liking the vibe of what I have heard so far. Love the guitar playing on this. Show's Baz's talents.
Is it The Stranglers? Dunno. Is it a good song, well performed? Yes. And that's all I'm looking for these days

Re: Down - acoustic track
Based on some people’s comments on here and some reviews the tracks have been likened to:
Giorgio Moroder
Lionel Ritchie
Leonard Cohen
Soft Cell
Kraftwork
ELO
The Disciples of Spess
And a couple sound like The Stranglers!
So certainly eclectic!

Yes I was wondering who would be the first to spot my error, I would rather have a truncheon voucher than the real thing from Inspector Knacker of the yard, no Private Eye references intended. Lt Kudu
