Mojo Magazine August 2021

Post by theraven1979 »

The Stranglers in August's edition apparently

"PLUS Questlove’s soul ’69 doc / Dhani Harrison unboxes All Thing Must Pass / Stranglers are Working! / Squid and Arooj Aftab are Rising! / Jackson Browne’s dirty secret / Prefab Sprout: Wendy speaks! / Ellen McIlwane is still here / How To Buy... Super Furry Animals / All Back To Joan Armatrading’s / The mighty Fred Dellar bows out"

Yeah, I was just about to say - Mojo are one of the last mags still standing, surely? Interesting that the mags which make a point of focusing on newer stuff (NME/Q) have gone, but the ones dedicated to vintage stuff are still thriving. Perhaps there's still a market for music mags for people of a certain age, while younger listeners rely on online publications.

I am in the printed matter business and this is exactly what is happening - not just for music mags of course.

The new touring keyboarder has been recruited from a crack Stranglers tribute act...

I think he's trolling us now. Every interview from now on he's going to up the number of ideas.

I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing The Stranglers mentioned in close proximity to The Wurzels and go unchallenged as if that isn't a bad thing.

What a bizarre contrast to have on your panel of acts. "Hello, Sil Wicox speaking. No sorry the Wurzels are unavailable that day but I can do the Stranglers".
