I think it will chart and maybe do quite well, does anyone know if all the pre-sales from the official site count towards the charts

I suspect they do which is why The Damned were able to achieve a top ten.

I believe they do. There's quite a number of older artists doing well with their later albums in the last few years. The Specials hit no.1 on the first week with their latest album for example which I assume might be due to pre-orders

Yes. The only problem with presales is the oldies enter the charts really high, then disappear the next week because everybody who is going to, buys in the first few days. Unless they get radio play, they can come and go without much notice and not attract anyone new.

But I don't know if that matters too much if they have an established fan base.

Well I hope they do more Promotional Work nearer the Release Date as the LP is not out for 3 Months. Also, who said Vive Le Rock reviewed it? There was a brief write up but far from an Album Review.

Wouldn't it be better to have a proper review when people can read it, like it and go and buy the album? I wonder whether many people would be prepared to pre-order the album several months before it's released, and whether the Pledge Music debacle will put any off.

Numans been on a massive publicity trip recently, seen him on loads,
from proper 40min C4 News interviews to Breakfast tele and it seems to have
worked, well, I for one forked out for his new album. Reckon the Strangs will
have to do the same if they want to punt their new album to more than just us.

He got to no. 2 with the album before it, too. The guy has a very devoted following that is larger now than it was in the late 80s/early 90s. AND he always focuses on new stuff and doesn't fall back on the oldies, and his career was in far worse shape than The Stranglers at one point.
