Only in that it's red, and it's not even the same red. Hugh's car was a dark red Mercedes, this is a bright red Ford Mustang. And it wasn't sold on eBay, it went through a specialist classic car auction.

Apart from that, spot on. :)

Love the new vid, anyone count how many Dave & Stranglers references were in it?
When I saw the person in DM’s at the beginning I thought for a second it was going to be JJ in drag yet again!

Not bad - not sure what the American connection is though. Maybe this is the band's way of saying farewell to the U.S ?

Spotted the obvious references, Docs, keyboard, bag, jacket and rat.
Any others?

The American connection is the West Coast feel of the song, JJ says that on the stranglers site, a very touching video. Lt Kudu

I thought I saw a BMW as dave drove one, cant remember the model but It was fast as Dave loved fast cars, and also rode motorbikes in his younger days. Lt Kudu.

Let’s hope this song & video works for them in America and attracts record sales?

Other refs Dead Loss Angeles, Beaches - Peaches, Sha, Always The Sun etc.

It's a bit like watching Peter Kay's "Car Share" and trying to spot all the funny signs in the background.

Nice to see the man with the bag, Dave's beloved flying jacket.
As for the American connection, isn't Pam American?

Their best album since "The Raven", says John Robb. Ah yes, he is a fan 😊
