THE STRANGLERS TOP 40

Post by dan-electro » 26 Dec 2013, 15:25

Just noticed that the Stranglers Official website are asking for fans to send there Top 40 Stranglers tracks to someone who is going to compile all the entries. Wonder if this is being done to assist the band with the 2014 live set list. 8)
Hugh - "We had gangs of skinheads coming along trying to cause problems and stuff"
Rick Wakeman - "How did you deal with it?"
Hugh - "Our bass player used to jump off the stage and beat the shit out of them!"

1. Down in the Sewer

Putting the other 39 in order might involve some scribbles and crossings out.

I've commented on the Facebook page how much I am going to hate doing this but I HAVE to do it :P

It is a good excuse to play every sodding album and all additional material in time order and actually rate them and make notes
'Peaches - A Chronicle of The Stranglers from 1974 to 1990', out 2014 on Soundcheck Books.

Think I'll go for a stroll in the trees.

I'm gonna find this really difficult. I think I'll start with those that absolutely wouldnt make it, and then work through what's left. R R

I've done one , but is there a point to this ? What I mean is - are they compiling this to get some idea of what to play next tour ? got ot be a reason other than just sticking fans favourites on the website .
Some observations too - Golden Brown - their biggest seller EVER - isn't all that popular among us on the list of favourites . Best non M1 song looks to be Relentless ( not surprising really ) .
All quiet ..........
