Did he not have a gorgeous Australian bass player (can't remember her name) in his band around 2000~2001 just before Michelle Marti joined :?:
Hugh - "We had gangs of skinheads coming along trying to cause problems and stuff"
Rick Wakeman - "How did you deal with it?"
Hugh - "Our bass player used to jump off the stage and beat the shit out of them!"

I think Michelle marti was late 90' and in the early 00's Hugh started working with Sumneyguise which included nuala but you maybe well right about the lady in question that's why I put other to play safe lol I was going by musicalability not looks but for me sexy caz has both..

Saw Michelle Marti play bass with Hugh circa 1998 ('Heads Or Tails'Tour) along with Spear Of Destiny. Wasn't there also someone called MIDAS who came later on?

Yes there was Midas and another one later I can't remember but that maybe Nuala. I saw some great gigs with Michelle and Steve but the award has to go to Caz 8)

Good question. The first time I saw Hugh after that tour was in 95 I think and Steve was on bass then. He had a keyboard player too!

I have a feeling that it was that session muso who used to appear on 'The Last Resort' or 'Late Night With..' both Jonathon Ross shows...methinks. Bah! Memory a bit blurred now but I remember speaking to said bassist after the Purple Helmets gig @ The Hippodrome in '88....big fucker he was, rockabilly type with permed hair (or was it a quiff?) :?:

I voted for Caz, some fantastic bass lines on Hoover Dam, not to mention what she has done on Golden Brown and how sexy she is. I do like Steve Lawerence as well, on People, Places, Pieces: the work he does on Sweden is fantastic!
Shove it up yer bollocks then!
