One thing is for sure - I don`t think any of us realise the amount of hassle those guys most be faced with when playing your local venue. All that equipment. Mick's old keyboards alone must be a fuckin nightmare to sort. Don`t forget these guys have some authentic Stranglers hand-me-down stuff in their collection. I`m sure they have a Kinkade and one of JJ`s amps for starters. Plus the promoting, travel, cost, time off work, rehearsals and then most of you lot don`t even bother :p - I can see why they`ve decided to call it a day. I`d like to see them still play the odd gig at least.

You are right about the gear....that is one fuckin truck full of gear! I didn't get involved with the keyboards, its too much for me to understand, but the P.A. alone is fuckin awesome and would put many a proffessional band to shame! And Jon's gone to the trouble of flightcasing EVERYTHING. It's a fucking mammoth task loading and unloading and people just think" Oh you guys do a great two hour gig....and thats it" they dont realise that, for example the Scarboro gig, Jon left Leeds at 2.30, arrived Scarboro at 4 ish, have a brew then start unloading the truck, set up the stage and pa, soundcheck, by now its about 8 pm, time for a few bevvies, on stage at 11, i think, 2 hour gig, pack everything into cases, load truck, and that involves carrying the gear up two flights of stairs, so by about 2.30 am, he can get something to eat, and then normally take the truck back to Leeds but on this occasion go to the hotel. So thats at least 12 hours to perform a two hour gig!!!! Its not as easy as you think!!!!
