Re: STRAIGHTEN OUT -2012 TOUR
I have got a bit confused. I thought we was talking about straighten outs gig list and who was going to which gig but you seem to be all going on about what you have been drinking. Let's get back onto the subject.
I will be definitely be going to the hope and anchor gig and the ruislip gig. I can't wait to see the band again. Let's hope they have a few surprises for us this year
Let's see if we can have some posts from those of you down south and see you all showing your support for the band because what I have seen on previous post the turn outs haven't been the best. The band seem to be putting in a lot of effort so let's all show our support for them

I just do not see the point of tribute bands at all. Every decent band has them but why ? It's a relatively modern thing and utter bollocks imo. I love the Stranglers and have done for over thirty years but wouldn't go across the road to see a few blokes playing Stranglers tracks.
No offence, just my opinion.

They're cheaper than the real thing.

Vinegar tasting nasty plonk is cheaper than a good red wine but I still wouldn't drink it.ThruBeingCool wrote:They're cheaper than the real thing.

Missing a treat they do it because they love the band and the music, get a life
Please allow me to re-arrange your face sometimes
I'd really like to get to know you better

I have a life, and if I was in a band I'd play my own stuff rather than pretending to be the Stranglers, Abba, The Beatles, Led Zep or whoever else these bands choose to copy. Get off your f##king soapbox.villainblack wrote:

Re: STRAIGHTEN OUT -2012 TOUR
There must be a demand for tribute bands, some are VERY good, verging on sounding better than the bands they emulate.Ribery wrote:I just do not see the point of tribute bands at all. Maybe it's the availability of these bands playing smaller venues at a decent price that's the big attraction?
More chance of seeing a decent Led Zep(for example) tribute for a tenner close to where I stay every 6 months or so, than paying extorionate amounts with travel/hotel/tickets etc....to go see the real band play via a big video screen to 30000 @ the O2 in London!!
If it's not your thang, fair enough
