Bob is a lovely chap and it's a shame he's going. I know for a fact that everyone on here will wish Sir Lord Bubba all the very best in black for his manifold talents in the future. Thanks Bob for being the best Hugh in the land. Will miss you mate.

You make it sound like he's died!
I agree with what you're saying through. All the best Bob.

I don't show and now look what's happened! Seriously though, the band will be hard-pressed replacing our maninblack. Everyone put out feelers to find a new Hugh asap.

Gutting news- all the very best to Bob, hope he keep on and keeps posting,
and hope the band keep going as they were a truly top night out and it'll be a
shocking loss if they fold now

Wot Alias said!
Met Bubba a couple of times this year at Magazine gigs and he's a really nice bloke as well as a top musician. But you all knew that anyway! All I can really do is wish him all the best for the future and hope that 'Straighten Out' do continue. They're a top night out for sure and it would be a real shame if a replacement can't be found.

Bubba, you will be missed mate, you like the rest of the band are true gents and each time I have seen the band in the last year, you all have provided a great night out, be it pre, during and post gig!
Good luck with whatever the future holds for you and Thanks for the memories!

I see your outstretched hand through the closing door
But it's a far better thing I do than I have done before

How do you know, you've always been pissedRodney Blackstaff wrote:....each time I have seen the band in the last year, you all have provided a great night out......
Seriously, this is bad news.....Bubba leaving, I mean, not Rodders being pissed
Best of luck to you mate, thanks for three great gigs
On the subject of a replacement, was Rodders getting up on stage in Swindon TOO much of a coincidence
Bring me a piece of my mummy, she was quite close to me........

Seconded!
Very sorry to hear this news.
All the best Bubba, and I hope the band find a suitable replacement for you although those shoes will be very hard to fill.

Bugger! I hope its got nothing to do with watching cricket before the gig, that would be taking the authentic Stranglers thing a step too far.
A more talented, modest, multi talented and all round nicer chap than Bob you could not wish to meet, and his leaving will be a huge loss to the line up. Best of luck with whatever he decides to do next.
I trust he will not be replaced by a stripped to the waist finger clicker with a wood block.

I tried to make him laugh, He didn't get the joke, and then he said I wasn't right in the head.
