How wonderfully ironic!

Iggy Pop..Every Loser

Really loving the new Every Loser album. It might be a bit Iggy by numbers but I don't care...it's so catchy! One of those rare albums where I go straight back to the beginning and play it all over again. Only skipping one track at the moment (Neo Punk). I already have my Crystal Palace ticket. I th...

Bands where a 'best of' is all you need

The bands you just can't take to thread got me thinking that there are quite a few bands that I don't dislike and sometimes even admire, but a 'best of' or 'greatest hits' album is all I need from them! I'll get the ball rolling... Muse U2 Kaiser Chiefs Queen Radiohead Suede Echo and the Bunnymen Th...

Re: Baz's side project - WINGMEN

Had my first listen proper today and it's not bad. 2 things stand out 1. Baz's vocals are "at ease" IMO. I think he sounds better vocally when he's not being "Mr Strangler". 2. The keyboardist has deffo been given a "make it sound like Dave Greenfield" brief. 1. Yes, I...

Re: Baz's side project - WINGMEN

This is a real grower for me. Enjoying it more with every listen...quite a surprise!

I can sometimes hear the influence of their individual bands...probably more Damned than anything else. Some

The cd arrived yesterday too!

Re: Baz's side project - WINGMEN

Not heard the album yet but surprised they didn't call themselves "the stranglers". Guess there's time yet Jim Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk Naughty boy! The album is a bit more blusey than I imagined. Some nice playing, esp from Mr Gray - I love his bass work. Keyboards are great -...

Re: Best song seen live?

This is a difficult thread, there's been so many great live experiences over the years. I thought I would try to choose one song per line up... Mark 1: The Raven 1979, with the Raven backdrop and glowing eye! Mark 2: Time to die. Those early Mark 2 gigs were so exciting! Mark 3: Norfolk Coast.. The ...

Re: Baz's side project - WINGMEN

Yes the early streaming was to allow people to hear the songs prior to the tour. It sounds like it's touch and go whether they will break even. That makes sense. I've streamed twice now and quite enjoying it Yes...the number of folk that this will appeal to will be quite small. I was quite surprise...

It's on Amazon Music Unlimited too!

Maybe it's just the CD that's released next month?

Re: Acoustic album

A JJ solo accoustic album with lush string arrangements would be a wonderful thing...and would really suit his (now) gnarly aged voice.

Ain't gonna happen though!

Re: The Cure

Yes I was there too...they were on top form. A great line up too. I remember it being very hot! It was hot by the summers previously, but thankfully very mild compared to this years heatwave. Goldfrapp played too, good set, but better suited to headline shows (Brixton, Somerset House), they can str...
