I had an email from a local club saying the Carpets were playing there around March, but it's not on their gig list now.

I recorded it. Only watched the start so far - a little bit of backstage, some fan interviews, just wanted to make sure it had recorded properly.

Wonder if we'll see "Rattus at the Roundhouse" on there next year?

It's part of the "Four Four Time" music festival, others include Marc Almond and Bill Wyman. Can't really tell from the description whether that means it's un-plugged or a "proper" gig.

Well, I've never seen SLF before last night, and to be honest I'd never heard of many of the songs. But it was a good night, and my left ear is still ringing the morning after, which is a good gauge that it was loud enough.

If this is the one with the pipers, it was repeated recently on BBC3 (or BBC4) when they showed some of the "Rock Goes to College" repeats. As I recall, it was broadcast on the radio when it was more current.

I'm going to see them on Wednesday. Never really been into them to be honest, but there's a new music venue opened up in Crewe, saw The Damned there the other week, SLF on Wednesday, Fish is there just before Christmas, and the Inspiral Carpets next year. I've told the guy he needs to get The Strang...

I've just got a ticket to see "The Damned" at a new-ish music club in Crewe on Thursday night. I'm in two minds whether they're worth seeing, but as it's walking distance I might as well go and have a look. Stiff Little Fingers are on in October, so that might be worth a look as well.

They seem to be playing a few of these programs at random times now - we've had this one, the Boomtown Rats, and AC/DC so far.

In recent years, we've had Midge Ure at the Nantwich Civic Hall, and Bob Geldof at the Middlewich Boat Festival (or perhaps the Middlewich Folk Festival, I forget now). I didn't go to either, but both are quite small venues.
