Re: This current Stranglers is still The Stranglers.

Totally agree Sir, and Jim is a fantastic drummer I should know as I've played most of Jet's patterns over the years and some are really tricky but Jim is a tour de force in the skins, no drug references intended. Lt Jama. I have a mate who is world class pro drummer, awards winner, etc. He really ...

Re: XTC

I think Andy once referred to themselves as the anti-Police. Swindon vs American/jazz/reggae combo. This world over is a good period piece, given the political landscape at the time, and his first child on the way. Not a fan of the song however. Bit too plodding for me, not helped by the Linn drums....

Re: XTC

Good interview with Graham Coxon On Rockonteurs podcast this week. Gary Kemp suggests the XTC influence to him a couple of times but he shied away from what I was hoping would be a more positive response. Nonsuch is a great album. I Love “Rook” & “Wrapped in Grey” which Andy reckons is the first...

Re: XTC

I think they have been more Womble influenced Jim, as Mike Batt did the orchestral arrangements
