I think it's JJ that (in the end) decides the songs they work on for a tour although I trust the young lads suggest some songs too.So Baz can't hate the album that much

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
Hallow,I would say it's the hardest Stranglers song to play live Not sure if it is but it is certainly amongst the most challenging ones. A fabulous composition. I love them to revisit their creative highlight but it's interesting to see what the young lads make of it. Goes for most of the MIB lp. ...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
Yep - that lp is the artistic highlight of their 50 year career. Hope the young lads get the hang of this material - JLNOE, Second Coming, Four Horsies.... cannot really see Barry doing those....Exactly what they should do.

That sounds great. Good to read JJ is still having fun, a bit ambitious and still interested in the past and present of this world.

Re: Cruel World Festival, Pasadena, May 2024
Of course. It's just not that big a suprise the stranglers are 'somewhere in the middle', some of the other names above (Blondie, Adam A., Duran) are just way more popular in the US of A.True but you gotta base your poster on some loose notion of the actual lineup.

Re: Cruel World Festival, Pasadena, May 2024
This is a poster, not the itinerary, cannot predict when the stranglers will be on and before or after whom.

Re: Strangler in the light
Madness are doing a tour soon and they are playing huge arenas Just as the Stranglers, the boys from Madness had a very impressive row of hits in 1979 - mid eighties. The whole ska/ two tone thing was for many people really big and for many this will be a lovely trip down memory lane. And, whereas ...

Re: Strangler in the light
was a rush job,a marriage of convenience.A lazy, half arsed effort to continue the band.Ellis was already in place as a guitarist and much easier to find a stand alone singer as opposed to a singer/guitarist.And of course as we all know,JJ had lost confidence in his singing. It probably was a rush ...
