Re: Picture House in Edinburgh closing

That will probably mean the band will just book the Dunfermline Alhambra from now on. They seemed to rotate it each year from The Picture House one year to The Alhambra the next. It's a shame the Playhouse seems to be used mainly for musicals and Opera nowadays. I did see Ultravox there in 2009 so i...

STRAIGHTEN OUT - BATHGATE - 30/11/2013

Excellent gig last night, venue was packed with a very enthusiastic audience (I think even the band were surprised by the attendance and atmosphere). I was at the gig in June and I reckon the audience was more than double it was that night. The set wasn't as experimental as the one in June but I bel...

Re: Just when I thought my day could't get any worse

I liked their early stuff with Peter Gabriel (Trespass, Foxtrot and Selling England By The Pound) but can't be arsed with most of the Collins era with him at the helm (except possibly the albums 'A Trick Of The Tail and 'Duke'). :|

Re: STRAIGHTEN OUT - 2013 TOUR

Going to Bathgate on Saturday and I heard the ticket sales aren't that good.At the gig at the Ferry in September the band made comments about the size of the attendance that night, hope they don't repeat it or even worse cancel.Looking forward to it,staying overnight in Bathgate otherwise we would'v...

Re: The Tube programme

I remember I bought a copy of Aural Sculpture a few years back that had been signed by the band in 'The Tube' studio during their visit to perform live in December 1984, it even came with an attached 'The Tube' with compliments slip inside the sleeve. JJ had put Newcastle '84 next to his signature a...

Re: Andy Murray - Wimbledon CHAMPION

In fairness to the English the last British Wimbledon winner, Fred Perry, is always described as British, not English. I look forward to wearing Andy Murray polo shirts. The flag-waving gesture by Alex Salmond was crass and immature. No wonder he wants to give the Scottish Independence vote to 16/1...

Re: "Off the record" Gillingham 1982

It's a bit strange but from memory the guitar solo on 'Hanging Around' on both 'Off The Record' and 'Rock Goes To College' clips is either edited out or not played by Hugh. I haven't watched either for a while but I seem to remember this occurring in both shows :smt017 Checked the radio version of R...

Re: "Off the record" Gillingham 1982

I have got the Swedish TV version , this version is the UK broadcast , and includes Golden Brown , some versions miss this song out. I had the Swedish version with subtitles in the 1980's and it didn't have 'Golden Brown'. I then managed to get a copy of the UK broadcast and it included 'Golden Bro...
