Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
That's fantastic that they are going to revisit MiB and especially Hallow. Exactly what they should do.

Re: Killing Joke
I saw a quote the other day attributed to Jaz. Something like 'We have reincarnated before. We will do so again.'

Re: Magazine - as good as the Stranglers
Unfortunately for them... ahead of their time. Although I liked a few of theirs back then it's only 'recently' that I've realised how good they were.

Re: Strangler in the light
Hewerdine must have been disastrous at audition if PR was thought better suited.I'm not sure that McNabb even applied. From memory,in the book No Mercy,it says that despite rumours, only two people were auditioned before Paul came along-The lead singer from the Bible ( Hewerdine) and Sil Wilcox.Yet t...

Re: Strangler in the light
Just to add to this one... wasn't the guy from The Icicle Works (Ian McNabb) in the running as Hugh's replacement? I'm sure I read that somewhere. https://archive.org/details/strangled-vol-2-no-39-1993-07/page/10 Thanks for that. That's where I must have read it and also an indication that Epic wer...

Re: Strangler in the light
One thing is for sure i don't think Hugh would have continued if it was the other way around and JJ left . i think Hugh would have chosen to continue with Jet & Dave no problem. He might have relished it. Just to add to this one... wasn't the guy from The Icicle Works (Ian McNabb) in the runnin...

Re: The Damned Show
I think Rat rejoining at this stage is no longer the crazy idea of a few years ago. To me he will always be the best drummer for The Damned.
It would be interesting to know why Will left or was he hired for the Darkadelic stuff only and one party decided not to extend it?

Re: Now and Then..... release day.
So is this just an old demo that's been cleaned up or had bits added to by Paul and Ringo? It's an old simple demo of Johns (circa 1979) that the other three tried to make work in 1995 or so. At that time it couldn't be cleaned up enough so it was abandoned. I think George is on it. The new version...

Re: Now and Then..... release day.
Video 10/10. Song 7/10 maybe 8/10. To get a 'new' Beatles single in 2023 is fantastic. I doubt many of us were old enough to appreciate them in their heyday. Sgt Pepper has some of the best bass playing ever. You can't seriously question the quality of their best songs. Not to be morbid but we can't...

Re: Strangler in the light
If JE wanted his wages doubled ie: not just 120% then that indicates what money he thought was on the table compared to what he was getting. As toilerinblack alludes, having his songs dismissed would have brought more things into focus.
