It's a shame that these old bands have to drop the new material just because newbies wanna hear the old stuff. I know it brings the cash in but these ageing punk rockers ought to remember why they started out in the first place.
Credibility don't pay the rent I guess.

Re: The Damned Wolverhampton Wulfren review
It's nostalgia that brings the punters in. Old bands can't go wrong if they use the words "anniversary", "classic" etc when naming their tours.
It will be interesting to see if The Damned (for example) draw the same crowds when they promote and tour their new album.

Craig Gill (Inspiral Carpets) R.I.P.
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/showbiz-news/inspiral-carpets-craig-gill-dies-12212802 I was sad to hear about the death of Craig Gill, the Inspiral Carpets drummer aged 44. He was only a teenager when I first started going to IC gigs and it just doesn't seem right that he's gone so soon...

Re: damned reunion
The Damned are just as good now, if not better, than they've ever been. Not sure why anyone would wanna see Brian James back in the line up.

I attended Pil in Leicester last night. Last minute decision but a good one. Nice to see Leskei and Fatbusjim amongst others.

The jacket looked great. Almost as good as the official Stranglers merchandise of late.

Great review as always. I saw The Damned at a packed out Rock City, Nottingham last Sunday. they were as good as ever I've seen them.
Damned & Killing Joke are giving The Stranglers a run for their money on the live circuit these days it has to be said.
