I always presumed they got on well because they worked together before on a couple of projects. I haven't got the book yet.

Yes I definitely don't think the name the Stranglers wasn't probably the best commercial decision but it certainly suited their early image and music. Maybe they could have been massive worldwide with a different name or certainly even more successful?

Yes he has recorded. But then gets into a row with the record companies who he sold them to and tehy say, sod you and don't release! I think Capitol own one and not sure if the other one got picked up because he has such a poor reputation. That's a terrible situation for him, that he can't release ...

I think JJ's vocals could have been a slightly better on this album. I think it's down to it being recorded remotely.

Water is classic Stranglers and I think Down has a certain charm.
