Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
Not looked at setlist but I know they played Genetix,to me a big mistake, should have left it alone,to iconic with Jet and Dave,Jim also doesn't have the correct drum configuration to play it properly, should of left it alone IMHO.Major Kudu. Disagree, it’s a great song and every time it and every ...

Re: 50th Anniversary Setlist?
Set list looks good (https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-stranglers/2024/clyde-auditorium-glasgow-scotland-33aaa84d.html) with tracks from 13/18 albums, only one track I’ve not seen played but a few that haven’t been played in a while. Clips show they’re sounding good, really looking forwards to the ...

Re: Anja Huwe
Rabenschwarz translates as Raven Black, German equivalent of Jet Black (I’ve been informed, I don’t speak German)

Anja (Xmal Deutschland vocalist) has a solo album coming out, 1st track off it ‘Rabenschwarz’ is out now, I can’t get enough of it. https://youtu.be/kIM6K0XU3oQ?si=KI3O1SqFpz4P2Ue3 Also coming out is an album of early Xmal, track pre-released from that is a live variant of Allien, also worth a liste...

Re: Magazine - as good as the Stranglers
Phenomenal band, their first three albums are probably not beaten by any other artist (although a few do come close). And as you say, great live, including with Noko on their reformation.

Re: Rosalie Cunningham
Went to see Rosalie (ex Purson and Ipso Facto) in Edi last night. Great wee gig. Plenty gigs coming up over the next couple of months. Go along if you are at a loose end. https://rosaliecunningham.com/tour-dates-2/ Saw her when she sang with Magazine Jim Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk And Ipso...

Re: John Lydon
Quite liking the new PiL album. It sounds more PiL than recent offerings. There's deffo a nod to the past sound of PiL. Some tasty little guitar in parts and nice lyrics. The album is let down by 2 or 3 tracks that are pretty lame by comparison. Jim I’m also really enjoying new album, some great bi...

Re: New album confirmed (edit: or is it?)
It's not just his singing, i dont think baz has any experimental instincts. He seems to be able to mimic a strangler sound in a track, but not come up with left field ideas of his own. Its all soft rock. He's what the stranglers need for good performances and fun time on tour, but not for a mind bl...

Still really enjoy it, not up their with their best, but top 10 IMO.
My favourite track is still ‘No Mans Land’ (would love to hear that live)
